The contention between the political ideology of the progressives and that of the conservatives weather down into one fundamental disparity: What is the appropriate size and power of government? The one advocates whatever it takes in size and power to provide a societal haven of surety while the other defines the role of government as limited in power wherein the ultimate priority is individual liberty.

This contesting of ideological differing(s) will never be settled because the truth of the matter is on an everlasting hiatus. Respective of this ideological divide that with variant degrees of intensity has always been a political fact. Americans have always believed we were in principal a democracy incorporated with a republic. I for one no longer hold that belief.

Americans more than any others lionize democracy and a government founded on the principals of a constitutional republic; but I fear such a belief is delusional, forthrightly untrue and a glaringly deceitful misrepresentative of reality.  In fact we are a nation governed by men and not laws and President Obama is leading that parade. The president’s executive branch, the congress, the federal judicial system, the non-elected supporting staff, the federal bureaucracy, and the apathetic, disinterested citizens who refuse to participate in the process of democracy; have forsaken the republic for the allegorical gifts of equalitarian happiness, beer, and bread.

For more than two centuries we Americans have been known for our utilitarian approach to problem solving. At one time we Americans considered, deduced, and acted; no longer, today, the risk of failure has captured our will. Instead of leading from the front we seek precedence for comfort; we insist on committee engagement so to spread the blame if anything goes wrong. We are dictated to affirm attorney’s opinions and always hesitate respective of the obvious need to act. We are so afraid of bold decisive leadership that the political/military class enacts sources and methods to mitigate even denigrate such behavior. As a result we have no political or military leaders; we are a nation state run by the second and third best of talent. These high ranking pseudo-leaders of today swear an allegiance to the constitution with one hand behind their back and their fingers crossed.

America has always had the scourge of corruption a multi-infections virus that includes all forms of dishonesty, sleaze, and fraud. But nothing has been so perverse and harmful to the integrity of the constitutional republic than: Statutorily compliant corruption. This particular type of corruption is pervasive and evasive.  It is practiced by our officers of the court. The smartest and the brightest are the practitioners. These are the nation’s attorneys and they are destroying the very values and traditional character of this country.

When one combines the ambiguous convolutions the congress legislates and calls laws of the land with the insanely baffling process one could describe as governing, it is no wonder the unethical and profoundly corrupt continue to be reelected. Imagine the electorate reelects the same officials the very ones that cannot solve the nation’s problems such as managing the debt, revitalize the tax codes, and govern within the confines of the constitution.

How could Leon Panetta, Hillary Clinton, David Petraeus, and numerous high-ranking general officers keep their professional influence quiet and mouths shut while lies, created by the Obama administration regarding the terrorist attack on Benghazi, were substituted for the truth? The CIA knew that Ambassador Rice’s statement on Sunday’s news shows was deceitful and dishonest; nevertheless, the Director said nothing to contradict those statements. Imagine the chutzpah required (by President Obama and Secretary Clinton) to ceremoniously, with the backdrop of red, white, and blue ensigns, uniformed military, flag draped coffins, and television cameras capturing pictographic images of the leader of the free world affectionately consoling the families of the fallen while perpetuating the telling and retelling of a story founded on falsehood and deceit.

Obviously, the president’s electability was the issue of concern; those in power and in the “know” set aside the truth for Obama’s political gain. Where was our truth-seeking “free press?” The press was and for the most part still is “in the tank” for the president and his liberal progressives. The election challenger (Romney) was numbed and defanged into silence by his pretense of political sophistication. Sadly, the Republican Party was, once again, outmaneuvered by the Democratic Party’s nonsensical-investigative-ballyhoo (in other words a cover-up).  Instead of calling on the press to get the generals to speak, instead of demanding a timeline report, instead of labeling the President, Secretary of State, and UN Ambassador  deceitful liars, instead of declaring the political staff of Obama’s administration: What they truly were, ‘novelist-extraordinaire.’ Fear of a liberal media’s response stifled their voice and muted the truth of the matter.

Yes, Benghazi was much more than a security default; shamefully good persons, in a perverse interpretive of the “greater good,” allowed their ideological beliefs and political faithfulness to delete their sacred obligation to tell the truth.

Truth telling in politics and governing is a scarce commodity. The elixir of power has intoxicated the sobriety of our elected representatives; the elixir has addictive qualities. The addiction to power, instead of rendering service to country, has influenced the well-intended to embrace pretentious inclinations of service. Thousands of loyal affiliates depend on politically induced gratuities bequeathed to their person because of their champion’s electoral success. This phenomenon is historic, reoccurring, and predominates in some fashion or degree every governing administration. Often this particular phenomenon defined as I call it, “statutorily compliant corruption,” is a political requirement of advancement.

America must cure its self of this particular corruptive virus… one must find the means to cut the head off of the multi-headed dragon. Surely, when elephants sprout wings…

In the immediacy of an occurrence, (understandably) the truth of the matter maybe opaque; the murky hues of who, when, and how could easily distort and disfigure the underlying truth. But after inquisitive discovery and assiduous deductive analysis, clarity takes form. Answers are extracted and the truth of the matter is revealed. Well, not necessarily so for those of the progressive political persuasion: These liberals are not interested in any evidentiary item or issue that negates or even questions President Obama’s policies.

These protagonists of the political left never take their eye off the prize — which is winning the next election. Unless the ‘truth’ supports the Obama administration’s contention, these leftists cloaked as Democrats neither have the judicious wherewithal nor the righteous tenacity to verify. It is as if it was blasphemous to consider contrary opinions.

The progressive catechism teaches: A key substantive of any deliverance is to never discuss specifics and most importantly, never end a promise to the people with a period. Know that abstract speculation is a useful rhetorical tactic, particularly when one confuses conveyance with causation. Remember at every opportunity to intimidate the electorate with the pretense of elaborating on the complexities of governing coupled with a tirade over the overwhelming ambiguities of taxation, and never omit unfairness as a social problem of the highest priority; but comfort the people with the knowing that the progressive agenda is the solution. The goal is for progressive ideals to find tractable implementation. Debates are unproductive; besides demonstrably, progressive ideals are in the common good. Never forget that conservatives are centurions employed by the 1%; just as Jesus said while affixed on the cross, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” A true and loyal progressive must understand that the people are of lame to average intelligence. It is in the interest of the people that the “means justifies the end,” for progressives this tactic is a moral obligation.

The preceding paragraph is of course an inventive embellishment; however the following is not:

The politicians, pundits, opinion-focused media wonks, and think tank staff progressives from the political left are (for the most part) lying, scheming propagandists; they distort, deceive, and misrepresent the truth of the matter as naturally as scratching an itch. For these guys and gals, implementation of the progressive doctrine spurred by their committed ideological beliefs is the value. The truth of the present is irrelevant. Truth, statutory and constitutional compliance, in the mindset of a progressive, is a secondary concern. Their primary objective is (by all means available) to convincingly win elections. Their goal is to achieve voting control of congress and have another progressive man/woman in the White House. Progressives understand that with consistent electoral success, they will in time able the Supreme Court to render in their favor.
