CHANGE IS FORTHCOMING

Team Trump is on the march. The political-socio-cultural nuances of society, as well as the enterprising wherewithal of business in America is about to take an abrupt turn to the right. The regulatory machinations of the governing progressive über-left are being lined up for thoughtful revision or outright repeal. China and Russia are on notice: The Obama doctrine of mistaking cooperative appeasement as leadership has ended.

While Obama’s foreign policy twists and turns to the beat of “mother may I,” China and Russia have successfully been playing a very weak hand; they have appreciated the artfulness of bluffing into their strategic policies.

China is the world’s largest importer of oil. In other words, if the importation of oil was embargoed via a Saudi-USA agreement, China would be depending on Russia, Venezuela, Libya, and other odd sources to feed their navy. 15% (and rising) of Chinese exports are sold to the United States. Factually, the US purchasers generate far more profit on Chinese goods than the Chinese enjoy when selling their goods to America. The Chinese accept US$ as payment and invest such monies in US infrastructure, real estate, debt instruments, and equity. China is wholly dependent on a strong and vibrant USA. If China ever posed a military threat to the United States, we would enforce an oil embargo, initiate a naval blockade, and seize all of their US assets.

Economically, Russia is death warmed over: As goes the price of oil so goes the cash influx needed to satisfy domestic demand. Imposed trade sanctions create trade limitations. The combination of import/export restrictions on consumer goods and vital financial services, expenditures of Russian treasury and blood onto Syria and Ukraine are not only costly; but such efforts, saving the Assad regime and enabling conflict along the Ukrainian border is of zero benefit to the Russian people.

The country is a plutocracy. Interestingly, even the wealthiest members cannot trust the Number One plutocrat. Those with wealth and power within Russia are subject to a whimsical Putin. Acting on a whim; the Number One plutocrat could confiscate their wealth, destroy their families assets, and terminate their being. For Russians with business and governing responsibilities it is understood that fear is on the one hand the glue that binds fealty and on the other the knowing that such binding of fealty is wholly tentative. The question is: Sustainability, how long before a competing plutocrat or some grievous financial necessity forces a change of control?

Over the last eight years, Putin’s strength was in direct contrast to Obama’s weakness… that is obvious fact. A fact that on the 20th of January will abruptly and blatantly contrast the former president from the newly empowered.

“Draining the swamp” requires definitive means. If one believes (as I do) that the degree of corruption is proportional to the size of government. That corruption is a constant and steadfast component of governing. That it is impossible, under common terms and conditions, to stop the growth of government. And that the sole alternative to impeding government growth (because growth requires money, and all government income is derived from taxes, fees, and borrowed funds), it is self–evident that to stymie the growth of government one must decrease the quantifiable of tax revenue by abating the percentage of taxable revenue.

Trump’s ability to legislate his policy through the morass of congress is as true a test of governing agility as G. Washington’s term as president. The challenges are certainly as perplexing as Gordian’s Knot: according to legend, Alexander circumvented the anticipated by pulling out his sword and cutting the knot in half. Well, a few thousand years later, let’s see how Trump responds to the multiple of knots coming his way.

THE PROGRESSIVES LOST THE ELECTION AND HERE’S WHY

What, how, why, etc. is the truth? Exactly how in the world did Donald Trump win the presidency of the United States? No, no, it, that could not have happened; that cannot be the truth. I’ll force myself back to sleep assured that upon wakening the bad dream will void itself from my reality. Such is the mental state of liberal progressives striving to grasp the truth of the Realpolitik.

What these men and women, boys and girls of leftist persuasions, do not comprehend is actually stunning. They think of themselves as the intellectually disposed and as such, the sovereigns of cognitive thought and indisputable purpose. On balance they have assumed the omnipotent congruence of knowing what’s best for society in general and for their fellowmen in particular. Many teach in renowned colleges and universities; they graduated from law school, practiced a lifetime of politics, personally know all the right and honorable, fundraise amongst rock stars and celebrities, and possess Barbra Streisand’s personal cell phone number.

However, they are actually playground bullies: For years, the clique gathers every day to reinforce their dominance. They define racism, discrimination of all sorts, sexism, and what should not be said, thought, or reflected.  Amid the comfort of their élan these chosen segregate, they imply, they discern, and have metaphorically, repeatedly, forced palms out upon the chest of the common… well, the common have had enough of being bullied.

Essentially, these progressives lost the election because the liberal leftist policies of President Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi cannot freely function in a republic and will never effectively operate in the real world. Dodd-Frank, ObamaCare, disability claims and welfare amok, unlawful illegals’ roaming within protection zones, and the insanely egregious regulations put upon business small and large, is bullying on steroids. Throw in the aggression of North Korea, China, Russia, and that ridiculous non-treaty with Iran: the common have had enough.

Of course I do not want to educate the progressives…

Please, America: COME TO YOUR SENSES!

Donald’s mindset wanders between his hubris predisposition and his indulgent sense of political principles. His demonstrated ignorance of world affairs prompts the beholder to question his solutions which are invariably detail deficient, shatteringly misdirected, and perhaps borderline preposterous. He has no discernable campaign strategy. His tactics remise of schoolyard bullying, name-calling, and deceitful accusations. The “blue collar” billionaire is a braggart, an insidious wheeler-dealer, an ideologically amoral persona, as well as an ambitious purveyor of political influence; nonetheless, since his announcement, the Donald has mercilessly dashed the competitive aspirations of the experienced and the neophyte. Yet, this businessperson-turned-politician is the Republicans’ front-runner.

Possibly, there is a static constituency of collective populous standing at the ready to enjoin in a less than clearly defined cause in pursuit of an imaginative result. Donald’s constituency actually believes (I assume) that building a wall paid for by Mexico is viable. They seem to endorse the concept of keeping (albeit temporarily) all Muslims from entering the USA as doable. Seemingly, while campaigning for the highest office of the land, Donald’s act of raffish disregard and rudeness is not a consideration or concern.

Donald’s silly and wholly ridiculous China bashing is absurd. He negatively grips about the current account deficient wherein the U.S. buys more goods (in the multi-millions) from China than the U.S. sells to China. Apple in China is a Chinese company. The U.S. buys millions and millions of Apple products for millions and millions of dollars. When these products reach the USA, the wholesale and retail aspects of these products benefit American consumers. The wholesalers and retailers employ thousands of Americans; pay taxes, invest in infrastructure, and invest in a divergent array of differing resources. Apple’s stock is a mainstay in millions of Americans’ retirement portfolios. China is the manufacturing suburb of Los Angeles. China has contributed greatly to this nation’s GNP and tax base.

According to Donald, America should renegotiate trade agreements to benefit America… hmm… withstanding America’s dominance as the largest consumer nation in the world, trade — though never static in scope and principle — requires a mutually beneficial arrangement. But then of course Donald’s gong to “make America great again,” I assume cajoling, bullying, name calling, and the uses of atavistic pejoratives while designating world leaders as incompetents, is the New Yorker’s sense of diplomacy.

The cause and effect of Donald’s 35% of voters has overwhelmed the crowded field of presidential aspires; nonetheless, a consistent and persistent 65% have resisted Donald’s call to vote. Divided amongst the remaining two candidates and delegates from former candidates, the anti-Donald 65% are fighting hard to deny Donald the required 1237 delegates.

Cruz is the beneficiary of the “anybody but Trump” movement. However, his present placement as with Donald is temporary if they do not win on the first ballot. Presently, Mr. Cruz is the “establishment’s” rallying point. Alternatively, the Texas Senator is a sacrificial pawn in a transparent effort to deny Donald the majority.

I rarely use the word hope. Nonetheless, I hope that Cleveland will mangle Donald’s efforts. I fantasize that Cruz and the Ohio governor enjoin and that Cruz accepts the Vice Presidency.
