THE ELECTION BEFORE US

Authored by William Robert Barber

In the year 1781, adjoining Yorktown, Virginia British General Charles Lord Cornwallis surrendered to General Washington while tradition recalls the British band playing an English ballad, “The World Turned Upside Down”. This American military victory was unbelievable.

The election of 2016 is a shining reflection of wanderings amiss, another unbelievable: Two wholly unqualified candidates are the electorates’ choice. In this election, innuendos, rumors, and factoids have suppressed the normalities of voter concerns, policies, and issues. The only pertinent question is: which one of the two nominees is the worst?

Long ago, American individualism was forsaken for the opaque assurance of personal security. The prevalent idea that government knows best has prompted a domestic policy wherein amoral secularism has inspired a predisposition to further — no matter the empirical evidence to the contrary — the outright dismissal of competitive ideals. Liberal progressivism has engulfed and is chocking the vitality out of the credo of American exceptionalism.  Congress and the Constitution: Be damned! Progressive leadership favors depositing American foreign policy decisions to the feckless United Nations; multilateralism and the internationalism of European socialism is their ultimate goal.

In today’s complex of technological options the means and power to influence thought is mighty. The media, all types and varieties, have extraordinary power over voter behavior. In this election cycle a lie, a purposeful misdirection, a circumvention of the truth in the interest of conflation or befuddlement has been lethally weaponized.

An overwhelming amount of television and news print media has taken as a mission of consequence the political defeat of Donald Trump. They equate Trump as a bête noire, a person that is irredeemably a hundred times as dangerous as Nixon.

As a standalone Trump is contestably far from the average presidential hopeful. However, compare the two: Trump’s faux claims, his past disgusting unsolicited sensual advances toward women, his inability to disguise his narcissism, and his instinctual self-destructive behavior versus Hillary Clinton’s unabashed persistence of lying directly to the American people, her decisions regarding Russian engagement, the Iranian deal, her disastrous approach to Libya coupled with her unforgivably incorrigible acts and non-acts regarding Benghazi. Trump is no prize — but his actions never killed people! Hillary, in concert with President Obama, is directly responsible for the deaths of thousands.

Hillary is an ideologically dedicated progressive who will undermine this nation’s constitution. Donald is not Hillary… and the world has turned upside down; given the choice before me I will vote for Donald.

NO MATTER WHAT: THE ONLY CHOICE IS TRUMP

Authored by William Robert Barber

The peripheral, the outer edges of principal are the media’s emphasis of and for this election’s Republican protagonist. Although awash in hypocrisy and outright duplicity, The New York Times enunciates Trump’s wholly legal 1995 tax return as some kind of moral insight. Pronouncing Trump sinful for adhering to (while benefiting from!) the tax laws of the land, interestingly, the management of the (NYT) did not in the same article report that the newspaper acted in exactness on its own tax returns and accordingly benefited.

In the present, the radio and televised media is shocked, even traumatized and of course offended, by an eleven-year old crude locker-room type recording of Trump and Billy Bush’s stupid apathetically delivered fabrication of their imaginative thoughts on the general behavioral instincts of women.

I am in my 73rd  year of existence; I can assure my readership that, no matter their station in life, just about all men have said stupid, insensitive untruths about their counter-gender. Seemingly, to be male is to be born with a debilitating software defect. Compared to females, males are slow learners and take forever to mature. I present this debility of my gender not as an excuse for the ridiculous idiocy of Trump and Billy Bush’s recorded conversation but to note, in the scheme of electoral importance, its irrelevancy.

There is no justification for this sort of stupid. Nonetheless, even when armed with the cognitive knowledge to know better and when the truth of the matter is palpable, we all have been practitioners of stupid comments and behavior.

However, as a voter, one’s analysis of Hillary Clinton’s ideological persuasion, her mantra of liberal progressive declarations and her determinative Machiavellian approach to politics defines the ethos of her personal reflective representation. Measure Clinton’s transgressions against the misbehaviors and indiscretions of Trump’s:

Benghazi: because of a pending election she collaborated with the Obama administration’s deceit and patently lied to the American people while Trump was wasting time and energy, striving to prove that President Obama was not born in the USA. As Secretary of State she perpetuated a policy of deceit and ignored the rescue of Americans fighting off a terrorist attack she defined as the result of a nasty video. Trump on the other hand was busy with the benign silliness of striving to disprove a Honolulu, HI issued birth certificate.

The Iranian deal as negotiated, affirmed, and touted by Clinton is an exemplar of definitive absurdity. An incongruity of good sense, rated above the stupidity (upon our withdrawal from Iraq) of not leaving in place a viable contingent of fighting forces supposedly because of the lack of a “status of forces agreement,” noting we presently have thousands of military in Iraq and these troops are operating without a “status of forces” agreement. In 2010 Biden wrongheadedly assured the American public that the withdrawal from Iraq “is one of the greatest achievements” of the Clinton-Obama administration, but another instance of innocence blatantly applied. One can objectively conclude that the Iranian agreement, as with the withdrawal from Iraq, is the result of an administration adrift in naiveté. The sum of facts founded on deductive deduction persuades one to believe that Clinton’s progressive Democrats lack a commonsensical understanding of world affairs. While Trump tweets nonsensical jabs of blank importance that fundamentally injure only his own persona, Clinton and President Obama’s policy decisions have actually caused death and destruction. They have, with the aid and assist of a dedicated cadre of liberal progressives, advanced otherwise unnecessary Diaspora of refugees and general mayhem throughout Europe. Conclusively, Trump is the only possible choice; Hillary Clinton is an anathema to a conservative America.

THE FAT LADY IS ABOUT TO SING

Authored by William Robert Barber

The end is just a few days away. The unbelievable will once again trounce the tangibly sound and reasonable. The culmination of progressive rule that started in the 1900’s is at its summation. Seemingly, despite the evidentiary economic failures suffered during the last 8 years of Democratic rule, the run amok of violence within the liberal progressive controlled cities, a foreign policy that invokes the killing of thousands, a Middle East locked in a cage fight over religious intolerance, a naïve Secretary of State begging Russia to please not make Syrian matters worse, and an Iranian agreement so vividly silly our enemy is belly-laughing all the way to the bank. Despite all of these clear and present dangers and yet, the Republicans cannot field a sure-to-win candidate.

Not wanting to pick on Mr. Trump — again and then again… However, why in the hell can’t he stay on message? What is wrong with this guy? Everything noble and constitutional is at stake and all he can babble about is the nonsensical and profane.

Yes, I’m assured by those who know just about everything that there is a good chance to hold on to the House and Senate. Of course I am suspect of these harbingers of political foresight. And the media, aside from their reporting through the permeation of a definitive progressive schism, they stir, focus, and create maelstroms of civil discontent. They are as if robotic provocateurs automated to exploit the dents in the target’s amour. They highlight the bane, newscast violence 24/7 thereby incite vexation and confusion while assuring their viewers that such videos complete with comments are news worthy, even the definition of journalism.

Citizens, voters, the populous are now addicted to the electoral carnival. These voyeurs’ sensory apertures are feed televised sports, lottery tickets, drugs, liquor, and a government that gives them stuff.

The central protagonists in this seasonal melodrama are Hillary and Donald. The Hillary drama is produced by those of serious statist beliefs. Directed by the licensed elitist and managed by a supporting cast of special interests, Hillary’s entourage is dedicated to progressive ideals, cutthroat in demeanor, and wholly lethal.

Donald, soon to be known as the unelectable, has a cadre of heretofore stymied conservative intelligentsia; nonetheless, if the sky parted and Hillary committed an offensive that even the Obama administration could not find an end around, President Donald would spend his four years in office striving to nullify his penchant for self-destruction.

The truth is: Sadly, Donald Trump is America’s only champion. Hillary’s win in this election would be a catastrophe.

SO NOW WHAT, MR. TRUMP?

Authored by William Robert Barber

Trump’s performance at the debate was a smidgen below mediocre to downright pitiful; the only worse display than that of Trump’s performance was Hannity’s defense of Trump on Fox. Of course, in true form, Trump proceeded to damage even further a recently damaged personage by twittering nonsense and saying one stupid thing after another about a subject no one is interested in. After living as long as he has and considering his extensive international business history, noting his interface with notables in industry, politics, and society, I do not understand his insistence on acting as if behaviorally dysfunctional.

His political counter-party is vulnerable on a wide assortment of differing incidences and levels of incriminations; nonetheless, in ninety minutes of argument he could not make his case. His narcissism blocked and blindsided his ability to comprehend, as well as explain.

I understand that “it ain’t over until the fat lady sings,” a colloquialism that for Mister Donald places his fingers on the ledge of that 1000 foot drop into the void of what could have been.

Mrs. Clinton wants to impose a progressive terrestrial utopia upon America, complete with all of the socialistic bells and whistles. Her geopolitical policies are fantasies developed on the virtues of internationalism with the enforcer being the United Nations and funding from the United States… And all the Donald is concerned over is the nothingness of Hillary’s accusations?! Hillary has induced Donald into acting as though a caricature in Mad Magazine.

This nation has legitimate problems…

Our legislative representatives, the political parties, and the citizenry are riven by clashes of interest and values that pit one of something against one of another. We Americans are on the path of losing our sense of Americanism, of being self-reliant people capable of noting the issue and dealing with it. As a society we are evolving into a common of disinterest wherein perception is equivalent to empirical reality; within this sphere of understanding one only requires the innocuous others to agree to substantiate their beliefs.

In a world of variant distractions Mr. Trump is his own distraction. Self-discipline for Donald is a flighty resolve as he prostrates to the dulcet of subjectivity and sentiment. Discipline in any meaningful form is, for the proprietor of Trump Towers, palpably effete. He just cannot do what is required. Seemingly his cognitive vitals are determinedly vectored to protect the profane, the ridiculous, and his sense of manliness.

In business and the US Marines I have learned the true definition of hope: Hope is the result of poor planning and the bastardization of faith; I have no faith that Mr. Trump can overcome his self destruction — but I have been wrong many times in my life… and I certainly hope I’m wrong this time.

THE AMERICAN TRIBE

Authored by William Robert Barber

We Americans are a people hyped by a cause and hypersensitive to the effectual outcome… well, I am speaking of televised professional sports, NOT the cognitive contemplation associated with the research  required to enlighten oneself on the nation’s current socio-economic-political issues and policies.

The nation’s people have devolved into tribal camps wherein those on the other side of the ideological mountains are considered the incredulous Philistines, hell bent on inserting their particulars of governing upon the governed. By measures as ancient as Pericles to the acolytes disseminating the counsel of Machiavelli, these practitioners of processes extralegal, illegal, and fraudulent brazenly serve the interest of political party or person. As with Caesar’s legions, the elected, appointed, and staffed explicitly pledge their fidelity to a political ideal and/or leader — not to the republic’s constitution.

Technology is overwhelming a citizen’s cognitive ability to comprehend. Information is impenetrably voluminous. Laws are ambiguous by such specificity, the reading renders the average illiterate; in sum, there is a steadfast propagation of opacity within the process of governing. I do believe that ambiguity is the purposeful tool of the licensed and political elite; for self-serving reasons they want to project governing as mysteriously difficult.

National politics has a veneer of intuitive contrarianism. It is as if the goal is more nihilistic than rational with slogans, catchy phrases, and scurrilous accusations recklessly bandied.

Our republic is no longer an ideal in the making but instead a gigantic monolith that inhales tax monies and exhales debt. It is a bureaucracy managed by an unmanageable unknowable process. Discretion and those with the power of discretion govern this process. Judges and their judgements have voided Lincoln’s of, for, and by the people. Regulators interrupt the laws passed by congress and often make their own laws.

Save the republic from progressivism! Only a republican victory can bring the possibility. The election of Hillary would mean the last shovel full upon the casket… the Never-Trump crowd should snap hook onto reality because a No-Trump vote is Hillary’s dream and the demise of conservatism.

THE GREAT TRUMP GIVE-AWAY

Authored by William Robert Barber

The prevailing discourse amongst the Trump camp is bellum omnium contra omnes, “war of all against all”: This circular ambush seemingly dominates the theme and premise of Trump’s presidential candidacy. Nonetheless, in this election, there are no innocents. The childhood adage “sticks and stones may break my bones” has a new ending: “but, words of invectiveness will win me the election.” In this election, factoids are prevalent and the “truth of the matter” is irrelevant.

Hillary Clinton is a liar extraordinaire. She is a deceiver on steroids. Her tenure as Secretary of State was exampled by poor to horrible situation analysis. Moral righteousness and common sensibility are not intrinsic to Hillary’s character. Even though besmirched by the constancy of personal corruptive behavior, with a series of foreign policy setbacks, and a convincing berating by the Director of the FBI, none of these scurrilous accounts matter; her unwavering support from the liberal progressive media overcomes and overwhelms.

Clinton’s political skills complement Talleyrand.

Nonetheless, in the presidential election of 2016 — because candidate Trump, the narcissist, the blowhard, the arrogant trumpeter, cannot stay on message –America will suffer a tragedy that will rival the fall of Constantinople.

The Republican Party will not act to replace Trump; therefore, the party is as culpable as Trump in the forthcoming destruction of conservative America.

CLINTON, TRUMP, AND OUR REALITY

Authored by William Barber

All governments are corrupt. Therefore, it is just a matter of time and situation before some member of government, prompted by a willful desire for a dominance of influence and authority, either elected, or appointed; contrives a process, a legalese, a crafted machination artfully designed or overtly extralegal, to subvert the spirit and meaningfulness of the constitutional republic.

“The people” no longer influence, manage, or determine (by their vote) the competency, courage, or honesty of their government. The citizens of America — in substantial numbers — are distracted from and notably ignorant of their obligations of citizenship. They have fashioned a yawning behavioral disinterest in the workings of the elected and appointed. It is the few, the educationally endowed elite, the politically connected, the politicized national media, and their pundits who posit their ideological determinations as if a certainty. Inundated with information, overwhelmed by voluminous and often contrary data, the citizen surrenders to the beckoning of pretty words and pleasantries of style.

How else could one explain Hillary’s legacy? In the era of emails, cell phones, and archived video, she is the boldface practitioner of lies and deception. As Secretary of State, she enabled the beginnings of a purposeful fraud in the inducement when she participated in the Iranian agreement. With complete disregard of State Department rules and regulations, she stored top-secret inter-department emails on a private server. She unilaterally destroyed 30,000 or so of her emails… I could go on.

Nonetheless, useful idiots applauded her words and laud over her being. This mockery of lawfulness by an officer of the republic is one example why a democratic republic cannot function as designed. Similar to the beckoning that tested the sobriety of  Ulysses, Sirens of promises composed of beautiful words and satisfying wondering sway us, “the people,” into the comfort of pleasantly applied subjugation. Progressives like Obama and Clinton create an ambiance of rainbows and butterflies. They declare that life is good, all is as intended. These progressives only require a half measure of a citizen’s freedom and several pounds of individual liberty as the fare.

I have no idea of Trump’s political viability, his governing intentions, or even his ability to govern. However, what I do know with absolute certainty are the governing intentions of Hillary: They are French in enterprise, Italian in competency, and Machiavellian in scope.
